Downtown Morehead City is about to get a fresh new rhythm at 704 Evans Street. Opening Memorial Day Weekend 2025, Rock the Dock is the Crystal Coast's one and only dueling piano bar, the newest hot spot ready to strike a chord with locals and visitors alike.

Owner Michael McGraw grew up in a close-knit Cajun family where love, fun, and togetherness were at the center of everything. After years in the military, McGraw was ready for a new mission: creating a place where people can relax, connect, and make lasting memories. That vision became Rock the Dock—a space built on hospitality, great music, and community.

So, what exactly is a dueling piano bar? It’s part concert, part comedy show, and all about crowd participation. Two pianists take the stage and “duel” it out with music—taking requests, trading songs, and bringing high-energy entertainment that keeps the audience laughing, singing, and clapping along all night. It’s spontaneous, fun, and no two nights are ever the same.

McGraw has gone the extra mile to ensure a top-tier experience, from the inviting atmosphere to the carefully curated drink menu. He’s consulted with industry pros to bring the best of the best to Morehead City. Rock the Dock is a space where everyone can feel comfortable and welcome.

The venue features a lively dueling piano setup indoors and a relaxed bier garden out back, giving guests the option to enjoy energetic performances or unwind under the stars. Acts are already lining up, with Barefoot Wade set to perform in the bier garden and Ronnie Smith and Neil McKillip headlining during Big Rock Week.

Guests can also enjoy a selection of light bar food—perfect for snacking between sets or pairing with your favorite drink. The bar will close at midnight, offering plenty of time to take in the music, catch up with friends, and soak in the atmosphere without staying out too late.
