FACADE GRANT PROGRAM
The appearance and condition of a downtown’s buildings, parking lots, and public spaces greatly contribute to the public overall impression of a town. The Facade Improvement Grant developed by Downtown Morehead City, Inc. helps business and property owners improve their exteriors with available funding of up to $5,000. 2023 BUSINESS RETENTION & EXPANSION SURVEY
As an accredited Main Street organization, Downtown Morehead City, Inc. has been instrumental in the revitalization, growth, and continued economic development of the downtown Morehead City commercial district for over 20 years. We recognize that our downtown businesses are vitally important to our community and our collective goal as a Main Street program is to support the success of each small business through our four-point approach - Promotion, Design, Economic Vitality and Organization.
Downtown Morehead City, Inc.'s Economic Vitality Committee has drafted a Business Retention and Expansion (BRE) Survey for distribution throughout the downtown district to gather input, insight, and feedback from our downtown businesses.

Get Started in a Day: Morehead City Planning and Inspections Department provides a one-stop-shop for entrepreneurs, business developers, and property owners to meet with staff to learn about applicable City requirements for opening a new business in a specific location, as well as guidance on new commercial construction and development projects in Morehead City. During these meetings, City staff from the Public services, and all departments will be available to help guide you through City permitting processes.
